State Representative Dorothy Pelanda (R-Marysville) today announced her support of the Neighbor to Neighbor Program, an Ohio utility assistance program. The program is administered by Dollar Energy Fund, who has teamed up with AEP Ohio to provide eligible customers with needed assistance on their AEP Ohio bill.

AEP customers can apply for a utility assistance grant that would be directly applied to their electricity bill. Eligible households must be at or below 250% of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines and have made a genuine effort to make a payment on their bill, which is defined as a minimum payment of $150 during the last 90 days.

The Neighbor to Neighbor program operates through donations from other AEP customers, which allows citizens throughout Ohio to help their neighboring low-income families who need to get back up on their feet. Such citizens can make donations through their monthly electric bill, and AEP will then match, dollar-for-dollar, 100% of donations.

The Neighbor to Neighbor Program accepts applications for the utility grant from October 1st through April 30th of each year. Apply or donate now in order to receive assistance or to help your fellow neighbors out.
