House Democratic Leader Emilia Strong Sykes (D-Akron) tonight will kick off the Ohio Promise Town Hall Tour, a statewide series of legislative town halls hosted by House Democrats to discuss the state budget, bipartisan priorities and a number of recent Democratic-led wins for working people and families across the Buckeye State.

“After a busy start to this legislative session, it’s important for us to get out into the community, answer questions and be available to our constituents, because we work for you—that’s our promise,” said Leader Sykes. “The Ohio Promise Town Hall Tour brings the Statehouse to your neighborhood, and with events all across the state, everyday Ohioans will get the opportunity to have their voices heard and help shape our priorities heading into the fall session.”

Leader Sykes, state Sen. Vernon Sykes (D-Akron) and Rep. Tavia Galonski (D-Akron) will host the kickoff event beginning Tues. at 6:00 p.m. at the Alpha Phi Alpha Center in Akron, Ohio.

The event is one of nearly two-dozen events scheduled throughout the state in the next month, which offer constituents the opportunity to ask questions and stay up-to-date on what is happening at the Statehouse.
