10.23.20 - Swearingen Announces Millions In Relief Coming To Ohio Small Businesses

 

State Rep. D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) announces $125 million for small businesses across the state of Ohio. Swearingen joined the governor and other public officials in a virtual press conference declaring the release of this funding and to other areas that will receive Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF) allocations. Swearingen spoke to the small business relief grants at the event.

 
 

10.13.20 - Swearingen's 'Business Expansion And Safety Act' Signed Into Law

 

Today, Swearingen announces that legislation he introduced, the “Business Expansion and Safety Act,” was signed into law by the governor in a virtual signing ceremony. The bill passed out of the General Assembly and was sent to the governor’s desk last month. The Business Expansion and Safety Act will help all of the businesses and workers involved in one of the industries most impacted by the pandemic – restaurants and bars.

State Rep. D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) announces he supported and the General Assembly passed House Bill 211, legislation that defines the term “junk watercraft vessel or outboard motor” and prohibits leaving junk watercraft and outboard motor on property. 09.24.20 - Swearingen Announces Millions In COVID-19 Relief Funding For Erie And Ottawa Counties

 

State Rep. D.J. Swearingen (R-Huron) announces that he supported and the General Assembly approved House Bill 614, which provides $650 million of federal CARES Act funding to local communities across Ohio for COVID-19 pandemic-related expenses. The funding will be made available to counties, municipalities, and townships.

Governor Mike DeWine and the Ohio Department of Agriculture announced $30 million in H2Ohio funding will be used to support farmers in minimizing phosphorus runoff into Ohio’s waterways, including Lake Erie. This runoff causes algal blooms in Lake Erie that can threaten drinking water and impact of the health – State Rep. D.J.
