COLUMBUS—Speaker of the Ohio House Clifford A. Rosenberger (R-Clarksville) and House Finance Committee Chairman Ryan Smith (R-Bidwell) today released statements regarding Governor John Kasich’s state operating budget proposal.

Speaker Rosenberger released the following statement:

“Governor Kasich has issued a budget proposal filled with bold, innovative ideas and I commend him and his team for their work. The budget process will involve caucus-wide input and months of public discussion and debate. I look forward to further discussing this proposal in detail with Governor Kasich and working with my colleagues in the House and Senate towards crafting a final balanced budget proposal by June that will benefit all Ohioans.”

Chairman Smith released the following statement:

“I appreciate the proposal that Governor Kasich and his staff have brought forward. As this is still very early in the process, much more input and debate will take place before we reach a finished product, and I am excited to get hearings underway in the Finance Committee and to collect feedback from interested parties all across the state.”
