Representative Christina Hagan (R-Alliance), along with Speaker of the House Clifford A. Rosenberger (R-Clarksville) and other government officials, participated in the YMCA Youth in Government Opening Ceremony on Thursday.

“It was such an extreme honor to reside over 500 students and their 75 advisors yesterday in the 2015 Youth in Government 64th Model Legislature and 51st Model Supreme Court Opening Joint Session,” said Hagan. “I am thankful for the leadership of these groups in encouraging the youth of Ohio to participate in promoting civic literacy and hearts for community service.”

The Ohio YMCA Youth in Government program provides high school and middle school students with a unique opportunity to become acting state legislators, governors, lobbyists, lawyers and committee chairs. The students simulate all phases and positions of the actual state government. This year, over 500 students from across the state participated in the program, the most in two decades.

State Representative Christina Hagan is currently serving her second term in the Ohio House of Representatives. She represents the 50th House District, which includes eastern Stark County.
