State Representative Christina Hagan (R-Alliance) was appointed to the Ohio Power Siting Board by Speaker Cliff Rosenberger this week.

“I am eager to take up this new role as part of the House representation on the Ohio Power Siting Board,” said Hagan. “This opportunity is very much in line with the goals of our office, to focus on sound energy-related economic development. Being a member of this board will give us an opportunity to be an advocate by promoting Ohio's economic interests in these deliberations, ensuring that we have the best transmission infrastructure and energy capacity policies for Ohioans.”

The Power Siting Board is an entity with the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio which supports sound energy policies that provide for the installation of energy capacity and transmission infrastructure for the benefit of Ohio’s citizens. The board promotes the state's economic interests, protects the environment and regulates land use.

Before construction can begin on any major electric or gas transmission line, major generating facility or economically significant wind farm within the state of Ohio, a Certificate of Environmental Compatibility and Public Need must be obtained from the Ohio Power Siting Board.

State Representative Christina Hagan is currently serving her second term in the Ohio House of Representatives. She represents the 50th House District, which includes eastern Stark County.
