ALLIANCE -

State Representative Christina M. Hagan (R-Marlboro Township) recently spoke to a group of high school students at Buckeye Girls State, a weeklong program designed to teach high school seniors about the workings of city, county and state government, as well as the ideals of good citizenship.

The program, which took place at the University of Mount Union June 16-22, divided the participants into political parties, where they ultimately took on the role of elected officials.

Following her visit to Buckeye Girls State, Rep. Hagan released the following statement:

"It is a unique and rewarding honor to speak with the women of my generation about the potential their futures hold. We have everything to offer and deserve a seat at the table, I hope that in the future I can work with them in a colleague capacity because these ladies are our best and our brightest. We need passionate women from all walks of life to lead the way as we work hard to build a better future for all generations."
