Columbus -

During today’s House session, State Representative Christina Hagan (R-Marlboro Township) honored Sarah Clapper for being named Miss Ohio 2017 earlier this year.

In the 2017 Miss Ohio Pageant, she placed first in both the talent portion as a pianist and in the lifestyle and fitness category. Additionally, with her platform titled “More to Me: Defining Value for Future Success,” Clapper has worked diligently to use her talents and voice to empower athletes across the country to persevere following career-ending injuries.

Clapper is a native of Louisville in northeastern Stark County, which Rep. Hagan represents in the legislature.

“It is a proud honor for me to represent a woman of such poise and intelligence,” Hagan said. “Sarah has been a role model in our community far before she was crowned. There is no question that little girls and little boys looked up to her before she even went through the Miss Ohio Pageant.”
