State Rep. Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) took the oath of office today during the opening session of the 133rd Ohio General Assembly at the Ohio Statehouse. Rep. Russo is part of a freshman class of new Democratic State Representatives who were elected to bring a fresh perspective to the Statehouse.

“I am so honored by the trust my constituents have placed in me, and I am ready to get to work on their behalf,” said Rep. Russo. “For too long, the Ohio House has prioritized special interests and partisan politics over the critical issues facing this state. Now that the 133rd General Assembly has been gaveled in, it is time to focus on improving the lives of the Ohioans we represent.”

Russo has spent the past two decades advising on healthcare issues and is excited to bring her expertise to the Statehouse where she plans to work together to protect coverage for Ohioans with pre-existing conditions, improve access to quality, affordable healthcare, and combat the state’s opioid crisis. As an advocate for women and families, Rep. Russo plans to fight for issues that matter most to Ohio families—like education, job training and college affordability.
