COLUMBUS –State Rep. Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) yesterday held a virtual community town hall as part of the Ohio Promise Virtual Town Hall Tour, a series of digital events this summer where local lawmakers provide a Statehouse update on issues including COVID-19, jobs and the economy, racial justice and gun safety.

“While the Ohio House may be on summer recess right now, there’s still plenty of work to do,” Rep. Russo said.  “The urgent issues our neighbors and communities are facing, from the coronavirus to the economic downturn, aren’t taking a break and neither should we.  I am committed to having these important conversations with my constituents about health and safety, reopening our local schools, and the economy so that we can find effective solutions that help hardworking Ohioans get through this challenging time.”

The Ohio Promise Virtual Town Hall Tour is a follow-up to the more than 25 in-person events Democratic lawmakers held in the summer of 2019. The digital events allow constituents to hear from lawmakers, ask questions and offer input on ways to address the issues facing their communities.

Democrats say the uncertainty felt by many in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, economic recession and civil unrest makes now the right time to get out and listen to what everyday Ohioans have to say.
