COLUMBUS— State Rep. Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) today announced Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) grants will be made available to cover certain local pandemic response costs in Ohio. Funds will go to state and local authorities as well as non-profits, such as hospitals, working at the direction of local governments.

“Our local governments are working non-stop to respond to the needs of our residents and small businesses during this crisis,” said Rep. Russo.  “These FEMA grants will provide much needed financial assistance to local communities’ critical efforts in protecting our public health and safety, infrastructure, and economy.”

Once an application for reimbursement is approved, FEMA will cover 75 percent of certain pandemic response costs, such as:

  • Emergency Operation Center costs;
  • State agency purchases in response to COVID-19;
  • Disinfection of eligible public facilities;
  • Personal Protection Equipment;
  • Temporary medical facilities and enhanced hospital capacity.

Grant application forms and other information on public assistance for COVID-19 response efforts can be found on the Ohio Department of Public Safety’s Emergency Management Agency website.

Completed funding application requests should be sent to emarecovery@dps.ohio.gov
