COLUMBUS -

Today, State Representative Brian Hill (R-Zanesville) presented a resolution with Rep. Hearcel Craig (D-Columbus) honoring Madison Claire Bailey on being named the 2015 Ohio Military Child of the Year by Ohio Military Kids.

A high school senior, Madison has been involved in Ohio Military Kids programs since 2006 and became a volunteer in 2013. Ohio Military Kids is an organization that supports the youth of military families throughout a loved one’s deployment cycle.

“It was my honor to welcome Madison to the Statehouse to recognize her impressive accomplishments,” said Rep. Hill. “Her work with the Ohio Military Kids program demonstrates maturity and kindness beyond her years.”

Madison has been accepted to Ohio University, where she will study Outdoor Education and Recreation. She wants to work at youth camps for children who are disabled and children with mental illnesses.
