Representative Bill Hayes (R-Harrison Township) today applauded the House passage of Amended Substitute House Bill 64, the biennial state budget bill that allocates funding to schools, community projects and government initiatives, as well as providing significant tax relief to all Ohioans and small businesses in the state.

As the Chair of the House Education Committee, I want to update my constituents on the status of an important bill.  House Bill 7, introduced by my colleague Representative Jim Buchy, clarifies that scores from the first year of all state assessments, including those given by the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC), cannot be used to determine advancement to the next grade level or the granting of course credit to students in the state of Ohio.

State Representative Bill Hayes (R-Harrison Township) applauded today’s Ohio House passage of House Bill 7, legislation that provides academic protections for students taking new state assessments during the 2014-15 school year. New assessments in mathematics and English language arts are supplied by the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC).
