COLUMBUS -

State Representative Anthony DeVitis (R-Green) today released the following statement regarding the passage of Senate Bill 310 by the Ohio House:

“Despite what some have said about Senate Bill 310, the legislation consists of sound public policy. The bill strives to reduce energy costs for everyday Ohioans and make those energy costs more transparent. With this bill, the Ohio General Assembly is being proactive by addressing these revisions, rather than reactive like our federal government was when our auto industry was on the brink of bankruptcy.

It has the support of major employers throughout Summit County and northeast Ohio, including the Ford Motor Company and Timken. With the support of such important industry leaders, it is clear that our state’s energy portfolio needs to be thoroughly reviewed and that further studies need to be performed. I thank Ford, Timken, and the dozens of other proponents for their support.”

The legislation passed with bipartisan support and now goes to the Governor for his signature.
