State Representative Anne Gonzales (R-Westerville) has announced that she is seeking feedback from veterans in the 19th House District on various issues.

As a strong supporter of veterans’ issues, Rep. Gonzales has championed multiple bills, which work to assist servicemen and woman.  These include House Bill 85, which increases the amount of the homestead exemption from $25,000 to $50,000 for disabled veterans, as well as House Bill 98, legislation signed into law last November, which helps veterans obtain unemployment when they return home.

The House also recently passed House Bill 449, sponsored by Rep. Gonzales, which gives veterans greater access to higher education by prohibiting universities and colleges from applying any residency-related restrictions to the admission application of a qualified veteran or the veteran’s spouse or dependent.

“At recent events in my district, including visits to the VFW Tri-Community Post 4719 and the American Legion in Gahanna, I’ve heard some important feedback from veterans on the issues affecting them, including comments and questions regarding legislation,” Rep. Gonzales said. “I hope to continue to hear from these important constituents so that I can take their concerns to the Statehouse or find ways to assist them.”

To reach Rep. Gonzales, veterans are encouraged to call her office at (614) 466-4847, e-mail her at Rep19@ohiohouse.gov, or write to State Representative Anne Gonzales, 77 South High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215.
