COLUMBUS -

State Representative Anne Gonzales (R-Westerville) today announced that Ohio’s unemployment rate has fallen to 6.9 percent, according to the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services.

Additionally, revised numbers from the US Department of Labor show that Ohio has created more than 238,000 private-sector jobs in the last three years, 67,700 more jobs than the Department originally believed. Over the past 12 months, Ohioans have created nearly 70,000 new private sector jobs.

“It is great to see that the policies and legislation that we are enacting in the Ohio General Assembly are having such a positive impact on Ohio’s economy,” said Gonzales. “The longer these policies are in effect, we should begin to see even stronger job growth.”

The new jobs statistics were part of the Labor Department’s annual recalculation of jobs data.
