State Representative Anne Gonzales (R-Westerville) applauded today’s announcement that Amazon will be expanding its operations into Ohio, expected to add about 1,000 jobs in the state over the next several years.

"I am happy to hear that Amazon has chosen New Albany for one of their data centers,” Gonzales said. “This will continue to support the economic development in the city and the region."

After previously announcing that it would add data computing centers in Dublin and Hilliard, Amazon also announced a third center that will open in New Albany, which Rep. Gonzales represents as part of the 19th House District.

The deal, which was reached between Amazon and the job-creating entity JobsOhio was announced during a press conference on Friday in the Ohio Statehouse.
