COLUMBUS – Ohio State Representative Alicia Reece (D-Cincinnati) joined her Democratic colleagues in the Ohio House of Representatives today to sign a discharge petition that would effectively call for a vote on a bipartisan Medicaid expansion bill.

“We have exhausted every option of cooperation and bipartisanship,” said Rep. Reece, who is also President of the Ohio Legislative Black Caucus. “There has been meeting after meeting and still nothing has been done. My constituents cannot wait any longer. It’s time to move from lip service to action. Over 275,000 Ohioans need healthcare coverage.”

The petition requires 50 signatures from Ohio state representatives. Democrats have over 30 signatures, and are now calling on Governor Kasich to deliver the additional signatures required to get the bill on the floor for a vote.
