COLUMBUS -

State Representative Al Landis (R-Dover) was sworn in as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives for the 131st General Assembly during a ceremony at the Statehouse yesterday.

“It’s a very humbling experience to be elected to represent the 98th District once again,” said Landis. “Many improvements have been made in the state, but there is much work still to be done. I look forward to continuing that work.”

Landis is beginning his third term in the House, representing the 98th District, which contains Tuscarawas County and a portion of Holmes County. A graduate of Dover High School, Landis worked for Dover-based Greer Steel Company for 33 years before being elected to the Ohio House.

He is a member of both the Tuscarawas County and Holmes County Chambers of Commerce, as well as serving on the Dover Chemical’s Citizens Advisory Panel. In 2012, he was named “Watchdog of the Treasury” by the United Conservatives of Ohio, and in 2013 he received the “Vietnam Veterans of America Buckeye Council’s Legislator of the Year” Award.

Landis and his wife, Debby, have two adult children and five grandchildren.
