Adam Holmes - House District 97

State Representative Adam Holmes is serving his first term in the Ohio House of Representatives. He represents the 97th Ohio House District, which includes Guernsey County and portions of Muskingum County.

Representative Holmes is currently the CEO of Frueh Enterprises, a mechanical and industrial contracting company that has operated in Zanesville for over 80 years. He spent 27 years in the United States Marine Corps and retired as a Colonel in 2016.  During his career as a Marine aviator, Representative Holmes served in several senior leadership and command positions including 40 combat missions supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom and 3000 flight hours supporting crisis response missions around the world.  

Representative Holmes’ committee assignments include: Health (Vice Chair), Economic and Workforce Development, Armed Services and Veterans Affairs and Higher Education. He is also the Chairman of the Ohio Aerospace and Aviation Technology Committee that is focused on growing Ohio’s aerospace industry. Additionally, He served on the Ohio House Economic Recovery Task Force (OHERTF) that studied ways the Ohio House could support business recovery during the COVID-19 pandemic.    

A member of New Hope Lutheran Church, Representative Holmes is very active in his community. His volunteer experience includes service as a member of the Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce Safety Council. 

Representative Holmes has a Bachelor of Science in Political Science (General Engineering Core) from the United States Naval Academy and a Master's of Science in Global Leadership from the University of San Diego.  He lives with his wife and their two children in Nashport, Ohio.
