State Rep. Adam Miller (D-Columbus) today announced his selection for promotion to full Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps. Miller is one of only 13 drilling monthly soldiers selected across the U.S. Army Reserve.

"It's a tremendous honor and privilege to lead one of the premier organizations in the United States Army Reserve,” said Miller. “This personal achievement would not have been possible without the tremendous support from my family, professional colleagues, and fellow members of the Ohio House of Representatives. With their continued backing and encouragement, I will be able to better serve our state, nation, and troops wherever and whenever we are called to serve."

Miller has served as an Army Reserve Officer for more than 20 years. He graduated from the U.S. Army War College with a Master’s degree in strategic studies in 2017. Miller is a veteran of the 10th Mountain Division, with service in Afghanistan.

With his promotion, Miller now commands the 87th legal operations Detachment Brigade Level Army Reserve element headquartered in Salt Lake City. The 87th Legal Detachment unit supports Army Reserve units and military families in the greater Midwest.

Rep. Miller currently represents Ohio’s 17th House district. He serves on the Armed Services, Veterans Affairs, and Homeland Security Committee and is a member of the House Veterans Caucus.
